The Rwenzori Marathon & Adventure Experience 2026 is a 4-day sports tourism package in Uganda that combines participation in the iconic Rwenzori Marathon with cultural and scenic experiences around Kasese and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains.
The tour is scheduled from 20th to 23rd August 2026, with the marathon event held on 22nd August 2026 in Kasese, Western Uganda, East Africa.
Participants can choose from several race distances during the Rwenzori Marathon, including: Full Marathon (42.2 km) Half Marathon (21.1 km) 10 km Run In some formats, a Fun Run (5 km) may also be offered.

Weather in Kasese in August can be hot (often 27–30°C), so hydration and sun-protection are important. The full marathon has a 6-hour time limit; aid stations and medical points are in place along the route.
Yes, you can choose optional safari and cultural visits after the run such as game drives and boat cruises, Lion tracking, Chimpanzee tracking, Gorilla trekking, Mountain climbing / trekking in nearby national parks (e.g., Queen Elizabeth NP, Kyambura Gorge, Kibale NP, Rwenzori Mountain NP, Bwindi / Mgahinga NP), craft markets, and community & cultural experiences.
Accommodation is arranged as per the tour itinerary and typically includes comfortable hotels in Kasese and Entebbe on a shared room basis, inclusive of meals indicated in the itinerary. (But you can still upgrade at an extra fee).
