    Overview

    Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Ranch is a unique conservation area located in Nakasongola District, Uganda. It is home to the only southern white rhinos in Uganda and is an important breeding ground for the endangered species. However, the ranch is not only home to rhinos as it also has a diverse population of birdlife. The ranch covers an area of approximately 70 square kilometres and is a mix of grasslands, woodlands, and wetlands. These different habitats provide a conducive environment for birdlife to thrive here at the ranch.

    Rhino Trekking offers a magical encounter with rhinos which make up the list of the big five African game. This Rhino tracking trip will not only allow you sight white rhinos but also several other mammal species and bird life.

    DAY 1
    RHINO TREKKING
    RHINO TREKKING
    Early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel, the tourist driver guide will pick you up to embark on the 3 hours journey northwards Ziwa along the Gulu highway to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. Upon arrival, your ranger will brief you, and soon as you start the Rhino tracking where you will experience the Rhinos one of the Big five giants in Uganda and learn about their behavior, the guide will avail you with each and every detail regarding Rhinos and their way of life. After trekking, you will enjoy a Canoe ride where you will spot plenty of shoe bill storks in swamps after which you will head out for lunch at Kabalega Resort. Then After lunch, since nature walks are a great way to wind up your day at the sanctuary. You will be guided through the trails and enjoy sights and sounds, bird viewing as well as other wildlife species. Later on, the drive will transfer you back to Kampala in the evening hours and drop you off at your accommodation / Hotel. End. Main Destination: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Accommodation: None. Meals: Lunch. Drinks: Water.
